Financial Reporting Accountant
Lead Group Finance, manage audits, financial statements, tax reporting, month-end close, and payroll checks to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations.
The key purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Group Finance Team, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations. The role involves overseeing statutory audits and the preparation of financial statements in compliance with relevant regulations. It also includes managing corporate tax reporting, including VAT, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Additionally, the role requires supervising the month-end close process, including recharges and consolidation adjustments, to ensure accurate financial reporting. Finally, the individual will be responsible for performing payroll checks and postings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Group finance team, to ensure that controls are maintained, and reporting is timely and accurate.
- Month end reporting.
- Responsibility for the accounting for group non-trading entities.
- Responsible for Group month end close process including intercompany balance reconciliations and consolidation adjustments.
- Management of the year end audits (Group and SPV) and production of Annual Statutory accounts for the Group.
- Address key technical IFRS accounting issues (e.g. acquisitions, goodwill consolidation, provisioning, deferred tax, and hedge accounting).
- Prepare consolidated and company statutory accounts.
- Responsible for all tax/fiscal reporting to HMRC/Companies House including corporation tax and VAT.
- Work with FP&A on Group Board Pack and bank reporting.
- Implementation and management of change and technology projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial reporting (primarily IFRS 9) and accounting knowledge.
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative to deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- High quality written and verbal communication.
- Good data analytics and technology skills.
- Team management.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant with extensive UK GAAP/ IFRS knowledge, likely with a Financial Reporting or Audit background.
- Financial Services experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
